Animal hospitals can be stressful.

Taking time off of work to wait in a room full of sick animals and barking dogs is no fun for anyone.

Travel can be difficult for aging and immobile pets and pet owners.

Cats notoriously hate carriers and car rides. We’ve found cat exams to be much easier at home.

Why Integrative

With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Berdugo has learned that the best treatment and patient outcome is accomplished by combining both alternative and conventional approaches.

don’t seem unwell. Some of the things assessed in an exam are your pet’s eyes, ears, oral cavity, skin and coat. We will listen to the heart and lungs sounds, as well as feel your pet for any lumps, enlarged lymph nodes, or abnormal abdominal organs. We will observe the way your pet walks, and also give it a body score. We can perform exams in a well lit area of your home where your pet is calm and comfortable. Young healthy animals should be seen at least yearly. For aging and sick pets, an exam every 6 months may be recommended.

Laboratory Tests

These are tests that a veterinarian performs using urine, blood, and stool samples. Most of these tests are performed at a reference lab. Results are usually received in 1-3 days.

substances, as well as foods. If we determine your pet has allergies, we can prescribe injectable and oral medications to make your pet more comfortable.

Multimodal Pain Management

We take pain very seriously. If we determine your pet is painful, we may prescribe any of the following treatments to make your pet comfortable: Acupuncture, LASER treatments, physical therapy, and both conventional and alternative medicines.

Diagnosis & Treatment

We see and treat both well and sick pets. For conditions that can’t be diagnosed and treated at home, we will recommend your pet be seen in an animal hospital. For medications that we don’t keep in stock, we can fill prescriptions with both Covetrus and Chewy pet pharmacies.

Vaccine & Vaccine Titer Tests

Vaccines protect our pets from a myriad of life threatening diseases. Core vaccines are strongly recommended for all dogs and cats. Other vaccines are considered optional, as they may only be necessary …

for pets at risk. We use only the highest quality vaccines. In cats, we use a purified line of vaccines called Purevax. We follow the AAHA/AAFP vaccination recommendations. See AAHA.org for more information. With that being said, Dr. Berdugo can work with you to create a vaccine schedule tailored to your pet’s individual health and lifestyle. Lastly, vaccine titers can be offered as an alternative to vaccines. Vaccine titers tests give us an estimate of your pet’s level of protection prior to repeating booster vaccines.

Health Certificates for Pet Travel

Acupuncture

long lines of energy called meridians. Each meridian is said to be associated with an organ system(s). When these meridians have a blockage restricting energy flow, pain and disease can result. Examples of conditions that can benefit from AP include lick granulomas, arthritis, cruciate ligament injuries, and intervertebral disc disease. The stimulation of points along the meridians can clear blocked energy, allowing health to be restored. Electro acupuncture uses a small electrical current to stimulate points. This technique is especially good in orthopedic and neurologic cases. Aqua puncture is another technique that involves the injection of a small amount of fluid such as Vitamin B12 into a point. This allows the point to be stimulated for a longer amount of time. It is also the preferred technique for animals that won’t sit with needles for very long. Our treatments usually last 20-40 minutes. A series of treatments is usually recommended for best results.

LASER Therapy

LASER stands for light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation. This noninvasive treatment uses a beam of light to penetrate tissue and promote healing. We recommend LASER for patients that won’t tolerate needles, as it can stimulate acupuncture points. Other conditions that can benefit from this treatment include infections, generalized pain, arthritis, and wounds.

Rehabilitation Techniques

We like to include pet owners in our treatment plans. There are exercises that we can teach you that can benefit your pet as he/ she recovers from an injury. Most of these can be easily demonstrated and practiced at home.

End of Life Care

In the comfort of home, we can assess your pet’s health condition(s) and create a treatment plan which keeps your pets comfort top priority. Medications and nutritional supplements may be prescribed. We can also address diet, assess the home environment, and even teach you how to provide nursing care.

Telemedicine

This service can only be legally provided to established clients/patients that have been seen in person within the year. This is a service best reserved for discussing chronic recurrent issues and behavioral issues. Telemedicine can also be a useful tool for certain rechecks.

Microchip Implantation

The best reason to microchip your pet is the improved chance of reuniting should she/ he become lost or stolen. We use the Nanochip. Once the microchip is implanted, you must register your pet with www.fetch-id.com For best results finding your pet, please remember to always keep your contact information up to date.

Humane at Home Euthanasia & Cremation Services

When and if the time comes, the greatest gift we can give our faithful pets is a calm and gentle passing. We can help you with this process in the privacy of your home. We can also make arrangements to have your pet cremated. Many pet owners elect a private cremation, in which they have their pet’s ashes returned in an urn. A clay paw print is also available as a keep sake.

Services we can’t provide at home
